We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use and safeguard it, and the choices and rights you have.

We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). By using our website, purchasing from us, or using our repair and trade-in services, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who We Are

Canadian Cellular Communication is a refurbished and used electronics retailer and repair shop based in Calgary, Alberta. Questions about this policy or your personal information can be directed to our Privacy Officer using the contact details at the end of this page.

2. Information We Collect

  • Communications — messages you send us by email, phone, contact form, or in store.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages viewed, links clicked, referring site, and general activity on caceco.ca.
  • Device and technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 6.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Process, fulfill, and deliver your orders, and manage returns and warranty claims;
  • Provide repair and trade-in services and communicate about their status;
  • Create and manage your customer account;
  • Respond to your questions, requests, and support needs;
  • Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and other transactional messages;
  • Send marketing or promotional emails only where you have opted in, which you can unsubscribe from at any time;
  • Improve our website, products, and services through analytics;

  • Meet our legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your shopping cart working, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used. Some cookies are essential for the store to function; others are used for analytics and, where applicable, marketing.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings and through the cookie consent banner on our site. Blocking essential cookies may affect checkout and account features.

5. Payment Processing

Payments on caceco.ca are handled by Helcim, a Canadian payment processor, over an encrypted connection. Your card details are transmitted directly to the processor and are subject to their security standards and privacy practices. We receive confirmation of payment and limited transaction details (such as the last digits of the card and authorization status) but do not store your complete card number. In-store card payments are processed through our point-of-sale terminals.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business, with service providers who are bound to protect it and use it only for the services they provide to us. These include:

  • Payment processing — to authorize and complete your purchases.
  • Shipping carriers (such as Canada Post and Purolator) — to deliver your orders and provide tracking.
  • Website hosting, security, and content delivery — the providers that host and serve our website.
  • Email and communications — to send transactional messages and, where you have opted in, newsletters.
  • Analytics — to understand and improve how our website is used.
  • Professional advisors and authorities — where required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights, safety, or the integrity of our services.

If our business is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to complete transactions, honour warranties, and satisfy legal, tax, and accounting requirements. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

8. How We Protect Your Information

We use reasonable physical, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or loss. This includes an encrypted (SSL) connection across our website, restricted access to customer data, and secure payment processing. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately if an issue arises.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Under Canadian and Alberta privacy law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and know how it has been used and disclosed;
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Withdraw consent to our use of your information, subject to legal or contractual limits;
